What should I expect on my first visit?
Upon the client’s first visit, the TCM practitioner will inquire about the client's background information and medical history. For a more comprehensive diagnosis, the practitioner will make visual, auditory, tactile, and olfactory observations, as well as asking specific questions related to the client's health and lifestyle. The practitioner will then discuss treatment plan with the client, during the client will have the opportunity to voice concerns.

As a female client, should I book an appointment at Blue Hill Clinic for Tui Na and/or acupuncture treatment during my normal menstruation?
Unless the client would like treatment for her menstrual irregularity, the acupuncture treatment will be postponed until the menstruation is complete. This is to prevent physically adverse reactions, including fainting, of clients during acupuncture.

The client is welcomed to book a Tui Na appointment during this period.

I am pregnant. Can I still book an appointment at Blue Hill Clinic?
Pregnant clients will only be treated with an referral from registered obstetricians and gynaecologists.

Are the needles clean?
Yes. Disposable needles are used for all treatments and are safely discarded at a designated container for biohazardous material following the treatments.

Does insurance cover acupuncture?
Depending on income level, insurance and/or workplace benefits, the client may be eligible to receive reimbursement from Medical Services Plan (MSP), insurance company, or employer.
